Personal Welcome
Welcome to PAPM 4000B
Welcome to PAPM 4000B! This cuPortfolio collection is designed specifically for you - to help you become acquainted with the seminar structure, cuPortfolio, and specification-based grading. Taking on something that is new can be challenging and confusing - especially when you are so accustomed to a specific routine.
That is why this collection is written by former students who can attest to the benefits and some of the challenges of this course.
This will be the second year that this style of seminar has been used for PAPM4000B. It is also the only one of its kind at Carleton that uses specs and portfolio although specification-based grading has become more common across Europe and at the graduate level. The goal of this type of course is to go beyond the certification and acquisition of knowledge; the goal is to develop the critical application of the various techniques, skills, and knowledge you have acquired throughout your undergrad in assignments you will likely experience further on in your education or career. As such, this course attempts to advance skills that will be directly transferable to careers involving public policy, communication, development, teamwork, and current affairs.
The remainder of this collection is to help familiarize you with the course, specifications, cuPortfolio, and how you can best leverage this course to your own benefit.
